Proper Feng Shui Office Desk
Layout
The practices of feng shui shouldn’t be limited to only the home, in fact you should apply the concepts of feng
shui at your job if you happen to have an office job where you sit at your desks for the whole day. You want to
create the perfect little bubble of an atmosphere for yourself when working so taking the time to rearrange and add
some things to your office desk could be beneficial.
For starters, you’re going to have to take into account which direction your office desk if facing. If you have
an entire room dedicated to you for your use as an office, then make sure that the desk you have in there is facing
towards the door. This means that as you sit and work and someone decides to walk in, you won’t be surprised to see
them. Having this type of feng shui office layout is the very first essential thing that you have to do to your
work area.
Next up involves simply keeping your work area nice and tidy. Remove all clutter and any unnecessary materials
that are sitting on the desk. More importantly however, is that you want to keep everything organized and so they
are easy to access whenever you need them.
Most office jobs requires that you work on a computer for the majority of the work day. In this case you want to
make sure that the wall behind your computer is something that you will feel comfortable looking at as you work.
You can put up a good painting or just simply keep it plain colored. Never have this area of the wall painted in a
wild and distracting color as this can easily cause you lose focus and productivity.
A very good practice help create the very best feng shui office layout for yourself is to add a small healthy
plant to the back corner of your desk. Why the back corner of your desk and not somewhere else? Well, like we
mentioned in an earlier article, the feng shui money corner is
the back left corner of an area. A good choice for a plant would be a jade plant (money tree). Always keep this
plant healthy and looking lively.
The next thing that you should add to your desk would be personal photos of your loved ones. Place this
somewhere on your desk that is not distracting and does not cause you to look at it every few minutes. A good place
to put it would be the right back corner of the desk.
The last thing is option, but is well worth it if you want to get the full effect of feng shui positive energy
flow to your work area. This last thing is a desk water feature. Something small, yet classy is what you should aim
for. Try to get a small water fountain feature that can make things look more appealing and give you the water
element in you immediate surroundings. This can really help you to relax during times when you are very stressed
from all the work that you have to do.
