Feng Shui Home Decorating
Tips
There are some simple tips and guidelines that you should try to follow if you want to keep with the feng shui
tradition when decorating your home.
Feng shui decorating revolves around creating an uncluttered environment and so what this means is that you
should absolutely make sure that you decorate with less clutter in mind. What this essentially means is that you
should try to stick with a decorating strategy that creates the illusion of more space. The old cliché saying that
less is more really does apply here.
The door or entryway plays an important key in helping you decide how you should decorate your home or a
particular room in the house. Something that you must always make sure of is that all the doors in your home are
fully functioning and that they the joints are not damaged. More importantly however is what a person will
initially see as soon as they open up the door to step into the room. With this in mind, you should decorate the
room in a such a way that is inviting to someone as soon as they open up the door and see what’s inside. Again
keeping the room clutter free plays an important role here and is highly essential for feng shui decorating.
A key element for feng shui decorating is the use of house plants. Use these plants sparingly throughout the
house and place them at key points to create the right atmosphere. The plants should be well cared for and try your
best to not neglect them because a healthy vibrant looking plant looks oh so much better than a dead one, wouldn’t
you agree?
Something that many people tend to overlook is the shape of their furniture. In particular we want to talk about
the corners and edges of furniture. There are two ways that you can go about doing this. Either stick with
furniture that all have rounded corners and soft rounded edges, or go with all furniture that have straight edges
and pointed corners. The general idea is that soft edges and rounded corners create a more softer looking room
whilst straight edges and pointed corners produce a more stiff sharp crisp looking room. Going with either one is
fine, but just make sure that you stick with one or the other and try your best not to intermingle the two.
These feng shui decorating tips for your home should greatly help you with make your home a more restful place
to be, as it should be.
